Giving our community a voice.
I hope they hear this
I Hope They Hear This (IHTHT) is an interview podcast hosted by David Shin.
Every week, David interviews an Asian American Christian in metro Atlanta, highlighting their story and voice. He enlisted me to give the podcast a clearer identity, purpose, and look.

Problem
A new interview podcast launches every day. IHTHT needed a way to differentiate itself and clarify its identity both strategically and visually.

Solution
A research-driven brand identity establishing IHTHT as the podcast telling the untold story of Asian American Christians in metro Atlanta.
Old
New
The logo—a megaphone containing a speech bubble—adds the brand’s newly defined mission (giving our community a voice) to a familiar symbol.

IHTHT’s guests tell untold stories. The podcast simply amplifies their voices. It’s only fitting, then, that its visual identity makes full use of quotation marks, megaphones, ellipses, and speech bubbles—elements that share the same role of the podcast: drawing attention to what’s being said.
Listener interviews revealed what IHTHT’s unique selling point was: it’s the first-ever podcast highlighting the Asian American Christian experience in metro Atlanta.
David’s speaking with people in our community, trying to build a repository of Asian American culture and story through this podcast. There’s nothing like it for the Asian American story in Atlanta. There’s stuff out there for New York and California, but nothing for us here in Atlanta.
A color palette inspired by East Asian flags and the USA flag pays homage to the shared Asian American identity of each guest.

I provided editable PowerPoint templates so David could produce branded graphics on his own without design software.
At every stage in the rebrand, I was blown away by the immense value I received from Edward’s process. The new brand embodies exactly what I always envisioned for IHTHT—but could never clarify on my own.
